Scorch

Scorch

You are gone,
pulverized in the mist
and became its part
like you never lived.

Left me in this desert
to starve and annihilate,
to melt in the heat;
panged and wrecked

I looked for you
in the books you read,
in the pages you riffled
and the lines you marked.

In the songs we sang,
the poems you wrote
those nights when you laughed
and those days when you just spoke.

In the memories we made
and the coffee you sipped.
In the places we went
and the rainbows we missed.

In the dreams we had,
the moments we lived,
in the future we planned
and things you outdid.

In the air you breathed
and the air you exhaled.
In the passion you carried
and words you often said.

None I had
but you. Only you.
Even in the promises you promised to keem
there is no sign of you.

You left no clue
but you left me;
precarious, debilitated.
Scorch sucking the cold

So much of me is withered
but a hope still remains;
discoloured, yet unchanged
to find you again.

PS- you all must be thinking that a lover has lost her partner. You are right. But there is a difference. They both are there , at the same place from where they started their journey , but he has changed. She feels as if she has lost her importance to him. whatever she does, whatever she feels, he pays no attention to it. HE HAS CHANGED. Maybe something or someone has replaced her but she is the same. She is stronger than before and she knows that  she will get him back. She can bear everything, every damage to her soul, but losing him will break her from the inside. She will turn to ash and will never be able to return to her original form.
